PIKETON, Ohio — Scioto Valley Local Schools will formally open its new middle school building with a public ribbon-cutting ceremony Aug. 13, marking the completion of a $20 million construction project ahead of the new school year.
The ceremony will run from 1 to 3 p.m. at the new building, located at 1400 Piketon Road, and is open to the public, according to the district. Community members, past and present staff, teachers, board members, alumni, and current parents and students are invited to attend.
The new building will house grades three through five, the district said. A school walkthrough and refreshments will follow the ribbon-cutting.
