WILLIAMSPORT, Ohio — Golfers turned out at Crown Hill Golf Club on Saturday for the fourth annual Pickaway County Sheriff’s Reserve Golf Outing, a fundraiser supporting the volunteer unit that assists the sheriff’s office, the agency said in a Facebook post.

Coughlin Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac of Circleville sponsored the outing’s meal and put up a new Chevrolet Silverado as the prize for any golfer who could card a hole-in-one, according to the sheriff’s office. Organizers said the weather cooperated for a full day on the course.

The tournament benefits Pickaway County Sheriff Reserve Inc., a nonprofit organization that has held federal tax-exempt status as a public safety and safety-education charity since August 2018, according to IRS records. The organization, based in Circleville, is registered to support the reserve unit that works alongside sworn deputies in the sheriff’s office.

This year’s outing also drew sponsorship from the Circleville Eagles Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 685, Scioto Valley Wrecker Service, Lindsey’s Bakery, Country Acres Auction Services, ERA Martin & Associates Real Estate & Auction Service and Police Motorcycle Escort Inc., according to signage displayed at the event.

Golfers also had a chance to win an assortment of donated raffle prizes, including tools, golf equipment and electronics, organizers said.

Crown Hill Golf Club, an 18-hole public course on U.S. 22 in Williamsport, opened in 2001 and has hosted the Sheriff’s Reserve outing every year since it began.

Organizers have already set the date for next year’s tournament: Aug. 14, 2027, again at Crown Hill Golf Club, the sheriff’s office said.
