CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A semi-truck driver was trapped inside their vehicle following a crash on Marietta Road near Valley View Court shortly after 1:25 p.m. Wednesday.
Ross County fire and rescue crews were dispatched to the scene for a semi-truck crash blocking the roadway. Units on scene reported the driver was not injured but could not free themselves from the truck’s cab.
Crews requested additional apparatus, including a ladder truck, to assist with freeing the driver, according to officials. Responders reported Marietta Road was completely blocked and directed other units to detour around the scene by way of Dry Run Road.
Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers responded to investigate the crash. The extrication effort continued for at least 20 minutes.
No further details on the driver’s condition, the cause of the crash or when the roadway reopened were available Wednesday afternoon.
