WAVERLY, Ohio — Waverly Primary School has a new principal for the 2026-27 school year: Bo Crabtree, who moves into the top job after three years as the school’s assistant principal.
Crabtree’s appointment was announced by Waverly City Schools as students prepare to return for the new academic year.
“I am privileged and thankful for the opportunity to join the incredible students, families, and community members that represent our school,” Crabtree said in a message included in the district’s announcement.
Crabtree served as Waverly’s K-5 assistant principal from 2023 to 2026. Before that, he taught third grade at Waverly Intermediate School from 2015 to 2023 and worked in a prekindergarten program with the Ross-Pike Educational Service Center from 2014 to 2015, according to the district.
He holds a master’s degree in educational administration and supervision from Liberty University and a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Ohio University and Kent State University, the district said.
In his message, Crabtree said connecting with students and families, building trust and following through are pillars of how he operates as an administrator.
“As new faces come into the district, and others continue, we look forward to the opportunity to positively impact and mold students’ learning and behavior,” Crabtree said. “Through a strong partnership between home and school, we can continue the success the Primary has seen in the past, as well as develop leaders for tomorrow.”
