Dispatchers warned responding crews of a propane tank in the backyard and of containers described on the air as jars and cans inside the basement, according to the radio traffic. A neighbor reportedly knocked down part of the fire with a hand-held extinguisher before crews arrived, and a squad was requested to check for possible smoke inhalation, radio traffic indicated.

Crews arriving on scene described the structure as filled with smoke, with smoke still showing on their arrival, according to the radio traffic. Units remained on scene for roughly an hour before radio traffic indicated the call was cleared.
