A hardworking and generous man passed from this life Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

Paul was born December 22, 1931 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Autry and Ruby Turner McCray. On May 1, 1954 he married Bonnie Shepler who preceded him January 19, 1985.

Surviving are children, Rhonda, of Kettering, daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl (Scot) Selbee, Tracy, Jerry and Corey, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren, BJ McCray, Heidi Noj, Shane Sparks, Michael Feltis, Hillary Townsend and Hannah Oates; 10 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by son, David Paul McCray; grandson, Keith Allen McCray; brothers, Autry McCray, Jr., James William McCray and Rev. Willard McCray; sisters, Julie King, Mary Ellen Williams and May Parks. Paul was the last surviving member of his parents’ children. Step brothers and sisters, Andy, Tom, Terry, Sam, Sandra, Delano, Ben, Bob, Sue and Audrey.

Paul worked for Chefs Supply for 30 years, he retired from Adena Regional Medical Center in 1993. He founded McCray-Feltis Lawncare in 1986. Paul was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, trapping, mushroom and ginseng hunting.

He was a great dad and provider. We will miss him always.

Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2026 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor James McCray officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2026 in the Greenlawn, Frankfort Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. prior to the service on Friday.
