HILLSBORO, Ohio — A Hillsboro man was arrested on an aggravated menacing charge following a road rage complaint over the weekend, one of several incidents the Highland County Sheriff’s Office responded to as deputies fielded more than 100 calls for service over a two-day span.
Bryce A. Young, 27, of Hillsboro, was arrested Aug. 28 after a deputy responded to a report of road rage in the 11000 block of U.S. Route 50, the sheriff’s office said. An investigation led to the aggravated menacing charge.
Deputies also opened a burglary investigation Aug. 29 after a resident of the 8000 block of Hereford Road reported a break-in. The sheriff’s office said the case remains under investigation and no arrests had been announced as of Saturday.
On Aug. 28, a resident of the 10000 block of state Route 124 reported receiving threats, according to the sheriff’s office. Charges are pending in that case.
A deputy also responded to the 11000 block of North Shore Drive on Aug. 28 after a report of a person under the influence of drugs. Following an investigation, a man was transported to Highland District Hospital for treatment, the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office also reported several other arrests and citations during the two-day period. Timothy R. Olderham, 52, of Hillsboro, was charged with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Seth Z. Michael, 34, of Hillsboro, was charged with domestic violence. Nancy A. Tepper, 56, of Bainbridge, was cited for speeding.
Deputies responded to 128 calls for service between Aug. 28 and Aug. 29, including 71 law enforcement calls, 53 EMS calls and four fire calls, according to the sheriff’s office. The Highland County Jail held 50 inmates as of the report, including 40 men and 10 women.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
