Everett (CJ) Wetherell Jr., 43, of Circleville, passed away on August 29, 2026. He was born August 23, 1983, in Columbus to Tammie (Davis) Wetherell. CJ was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom Davis Sr. and Diana Wetherell, and his uncle and best friend, Tim Allen. In addition to his mom, CJ is survived by his brother, Dallas Wetherell and his son, Abel Jacob; grandma, Betty Hopkins; aunts and uncles, Tom (Michelle) Davis, Tara Vanover, and Tina Allen; great-uncles, Willie (Barb) Davis and Ted Davis; great-aunt, Patty Surratt; many loving cousins; and his wonderful friends, Norma Schooley, “Daddy” Bill Baker, “Grandma” Rhonda Leath, and friends at the Goodwill Adult Day Care Center. CJ had a special way of touching everyone he met. His beautiful smile could light up a room, and his joyful spirit made ordinary days brighter. He brought happiness to his family and everyone fortunate enough to know him. CJ loved deeply and was loved just as deeply in return. He connected with people without needing many words, sharing his love, happiness, and warmth through his presence. CJ’s life reminded those around him that life’s greatest gifts are often simple: a genuine smile, a happy heart, a warm embrace, and the ability to bring joy by being yourself. He taught unconditional love, patience, compassion, and the importance of finding happiness in little things. Although his time here was far too short, the love and joy CJ gave will remain in the hearts of everyone who knew him. His smile will never be forgotten, and the light he brought into the world will continue through all the lives he touched.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 2, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at Wellman Funeral Home in Circleville. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 3, at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at Forest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family in the name of Tammie Wetherell.
