Doris Ann McKenzie, 65
Doris Ann McKenzie, 65, died Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at SOMC Hospice. She was born August 1, 1961, in Portsmouth, to the late Elmer and Ruby (Arms) Watson. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Billy Joe James; a nephew, Michael James; and a niece, Tonya Eddington.
Doris worked in home health care, where she treated those she cared for like family. She loved spending time with her own family especially her grandchildren who were her world.
She is survived by two sons, Jamie (Tina McCleese) McKenzie and Danny McKenzie Jr.; a daughter, Diane (Ronnie Rawlins) Rigsbee; a brother, Elmer (Treva) James; three sisters, Margaret Issac, Bonnie James, and Donna James; 16 grandchildren, Brandon, Makayla, Bradey, Kiersten, Layla, Chloe, Dacota, Josh, Harper, Destiny, Skyler, Brooke, Kyle, Austin, Alex, and Jasmine; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2026, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 5 p.m. Friday. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
