ASHVILLE, Ohio — The Harrison Township Division of Fire responded to 251 calls in August, including 192 EMS runs and 59 fire calls, according to a monthly run report the department posted on Facebook.
The department’s year-to-date total through August stands at 1,970 calls, made up of 1,470 EMS runs and 500 fire calls, the report showed. Crews are averaging 8.1 calls a day, with Fridays and afternoon hours between noon and 6 p.m. drawing the heaviest demand, according to the department. Friday was the busiest day with 43 calls, and the noon-to-6 p.m. window accounted for 101 calls.
Harrison Township Division of Fire, based in Ashville, provides fire and EMS coverage across several Pickaway County communities. Ashville generated the most calls in the coverage area in August with 104, followed by South Bloomfield with 42, Harrison Township with 38 and Walnut Township with 28, the report said. Madison Township, Jackson Township, Darbyville and Muhlenberg Township rounded out the district, each logging fewer than 20 calls for the month.
Year to date, Ashville leads all jurisdictions with 795 calls, followed by Harrison Township with 306, South Bloomfield with 290 and Walnut Township with 246, according to the department.
Based on current call trends, the department projects it will handle 2,963 calls by the end of 2026, up from the 1,970 logged through August.
