WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — A woman who tried to swallow narcotics she was smuggling into the Fayette County Jail has been sentenced to five years in prison, one of nine cases the Fayette County Prosecutor’s Office said reached final disposition in August.
Bobbi Jo Munyan was sentenced to 60 months for tampering with evidence, illegal conveyance of prohibited items into a detention facility and failure to appear, according to the prosecutor’s office. Munyan was originally charged in 2024 after narcotics were found on her during a change-out process at the Fayette County Jail; jail personnel prevented her from swallowing the drugs after they were removed from her person, the office said. She posted bond and then failed to appear for trial. She was picked up earlier this year in Highland County, where she was sentenced to prison on a fifth-degree felony drug offense, and her Fayette County sentence will run consecutive to that term.
Beau Cook received a sentence of four years mandatory and up to six years total under Ohio’s indefinite sentencing law after being convicted of aggravated possession of drugs, a second-degree felony, the prosecutor’s office said. The case stemmed from a June 26, 2025, incident in which Fayette County EMS personnel and Washington Court House police officers were called to Cook’s apartment on reports of an occupant yelling and thrashing for hours.
Tammie Campbell was sentenced to two to three years in prison, with two years mandatory, after being convicted of aggravated possession of drugs involving more than 15 grams but less than 150 grams of methamphetamine, a second-degree felony, from an incident that occurred on or about Jan. 11, 2026.
Tyler Rinehart was convicted at a bench trial in June of 15 separate fifth-degree felony counts of violating a protection order. The state recommended a 15-year sentence; Rinehart was sentenced to a total of 24 months, the prosecutor’s office said.
David Kerns was sentenced to 10 months in prison for breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony, stemming from an incident on June 16.
Aaron Carr was sentenced to community control for two convictions of theft from the elderly, each a fourth-degree felony.
Scott Dawson was sentenced to two years of community control for aggravated possession of drugs involving less than 3 grams of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony, from an incident on April 20.
Donald Johnson was convicted of aggravated possession of drugs involving less than 3 grams of methamphetamine and receiving stolen property, both fifth-degree felonies. Under Ohio’s Targeted Community Alternatives to Prison law, Johnson, who has no violent felonies or sex offenses on his record, was ineligible for a prison sentence. He was sentenced to 12 months in jail on the Fayette County cases and is currently serving a separate jail sentence in Montgomery County, the prosecutor’s office said.
Aryan Penn was sentenced to community control after being convicted of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a fourth-degree felony, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a first-degree misdemeanor, from a Jan. 18 incident in Washington Court House. Penn also received a class 2 license suspension of three years to life and must complete a mandatory three days in jail or a driver intervention program for the OVI conviction.
