CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A Chillicothe native and Zane Trace High School graduate joined the ranks of the Chillicothe Police Department this week, taking the oath of office in a ceremony at the Chillicothe Municipal Court.
Brayden Woodbridge was sworn in Tuesday, officially beginning his career with the department, the Chillicothe Police Department said in a Facebook post.
The oath was administered by Chillicothe Municipal Court Judge Jason M. Miller, who took the bench this year after winning election in November 2025. Miller, an assistant law director for the city of Chillicothe before joining the court, is himself a 1994 graduate of Zane Trace High School.
Woodbridge was born and raised in Chillicothe and attended Zane Trace High School, part of the Zane Trace Local School District, which serves communities in Ross County. Following the ceremony, he was pinned with his department badge as family looked on.
“We are proud to welcome him to our Police Department and look forward to seeing him serve the community he calls home,” the department said in its announcement.
Woodbridge joins a department that patrols Chillicothe, a city of roughly 22,000 residents that once served as Ohio’s first state capital.
