WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — The Concord-Green Fire Department has added $25 T-shirts to its fundraising lineup for a new fire station, with the shirts set to debut at an Oct. 3 open house, the volunteer department said in a Facebook post.

UPDATE (Sept. 15, 9:25 p.m.): This story has been updated with additional information from the Concord-Green Fire Department.

The shirts came off the press this week and will be stocked and ready for purchase at the open house, scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. at Station 300 on Worthington Road, the department said. All proceeds go toward Concord-Green’s campaign for a new station, the same effort that has also been funded through a $5 rubber bracelet sale at area drive-thru windows.

The fundraising push is the latest step in a monthslong campaign by the volunteer department, which serves Concord, Green and Perry townships in Fayette County from a single station. The department, founded in 1948, surveyed residents in August on support for building a new, safer station and later announced it had secured nearly $131,000 in grants and gifts toward the project.

At the Oct. 3 open house, visitors will be able to climb aboard a fire truck, view equipment displays, pick up a T-shirt or bracelet, and learn more about the push for a new building.

Department officials have not released a cost estimate or timeline for a new station beyond the ongoing survey and grant-seeking efforts.
