Georgia Irene Royster, 89
Georgia Irene Royster, 89, of McDermott, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at SOMC Hospice. She was born September 5, 1937, in McDermott, to the late Hartzel William and Sally Georgia (Cooper) Breech.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sherman Albert Royster; a daughter, Alissa Royster; four brothers; Harold, Paul, Charles, and Hartzel Breech and three sisters, Wanda Warren, Julia Cook and Doris Hitchon
Georgia was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her home and family. She took great pride in providing for those she loved and creating a warm and welcoming home for her family. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Church.
Georgia is survived by three sons, Curtis Royster, Carlos Royster, and Alfred Royster, all of McDermott; two daughters, Karla Hartley of Minford and Paula Brannan of McDermott; three brothers, Virgil Breech of Lucasville and Albert Breech and Ronald Breech, both of McDermott; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 10, 2026 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Interment will follow at Garvin Cemetery in McDermott. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to SOMC Hospice in Georgia’s name.
