HILLSBORO, Ohio — The Highland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a break-in on McVey Road and a vandalism report involving off-road vehicles, among several incidents deputies responded to over a two-day stretch, the sheriff’s office said.
A deputy responded to the 6000 block of McVey Road on Sept. 7 after a report of breaking and entering, according to the sheriff’s office. Following an investigation, charges are pending against a New Vienna woman.
Deputies were also dispatched Sept. 7 to the 5900 block of Hickory Hills Drive after a report of vandalism caused by people riding side-by-side ATVs, the sheriff’s office said.
A resident of the 800 block of Greenbush Road reported a disturbance the same day, and deputies determined a man had been assaulted before leaving the scene. The sheriff’s office said the deputy located the man, who declined medical treatment and did not want to pursue charges.
On Sept. 6, a deputy responded to a report of a disorderly person at a residence on North High Street in Mowrystown. The investigation led to the arrest of Rose M. McCann, 33, of Sardinia, on an outstanding warrant out of Franklin County, according to the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office also reported several other arrests and citations during the period. Billie J. Saddler, 47, of Hillsboro, was charged with contempt of court. Joseph D. Collett, 40, of Bainbridge, was charged with drug paraphernalia possession, obstructing official business and resisting arrest. Aidyn Bedford, 19, of Hillsboro, was cited for speeding.
Deputies responded to 122 calls for service between Sept. 6 and Sept. 7, including 78 law enforcement calls, 46 EMS calls and four fire calls, according to the sheriff’s office. The Highland County Jail held 44 inmates as of the report, including 35 men and nine women.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
