NEW HOLLAND, Ohio — The New Holland Police Department is thanking the Walmart in Washington Court House for donating fishing gear ahead of the department’s Cops and Kids Fishing event, set for 11:30 a.m. Saturday at New Holland Park.
“We would like to thank Walmart in Washington Court House for their generous donations for our Cops and Kids Fishing event,” the department said in a Facebook post. “This will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 11:30 at the New Holland Park.”
A photo shared by the department showed a shopping cart loaded with dozens of new rods, reels and tackle purchased for the event, which pairs New Holland officers with local children for an afternoon on the water.
New Holland is a village of about 800 residents that straddles the Fayette-Pickaway county line, with the Fayette County side falling within the Washington Court House micropolitan area. The village was founded in 1818 and incorporated in 1834.
