WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — Washington Court House will receive more than $500,000 through the state capital budget, City Manager Joe Denen told council at its June 10 meeting, crediting state Rep. Bob Peterson for the funding.
Denen also updated council on progress toward installing inclusive playground equipment in the city, a project he said is separate from the capital budget money, and thanked the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for its support on that effort, according to meeting minutes.
Council gave final approval to Ordinance No. 10-2026, which rewrites the city’s licensing application requirements and fees for door-to-door sales and solicitation. Denen noted that two permits had already been issued under the prior set of requirements as of the meeting date. Councilman Jim Blair again cast the lone dissenting vote.
Council also adopted Resolution No. R19-2026, authorizing a pre-July 1994 residential community reinvestment area agreement with Forestar (USA) Real Estate Group Inc., part of the same development financing framework council advanced in April for a planned 250-home subdivision.
A resident on Washington Avenue thanked the city for the Memorial Day ceremonies and the inclusive playground project, and urged council to continue discussing water rates.
