WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — Washington Court House’s Planning Commission will consider reviving a long-tabled ordinance to regulate short-term rentals such as Airbnb, along with several development proposals, when it meets Oct. 6.
The commission is scheduled to take up an amendment to the city’s zoning ordinance addressing Airbnb usage, an application first filed by the city and tabled since Feb. 7, 2023, according to the meeting agenda. Also on the agenda is a proposed addition to the zoning code that would add a formal definition of “family” to the ordinance’s list of defined terms.
The panel will also review a final plat for Phase I of the Smith Grove Subdivision, submitted by Forestar Real Estate Group Inc. of Columbus. The commission approved a final plat for the Delaware Crossings subdivision in July.
Other items on the agenda include a request from JLB1 Properties LTD to rezone two parcels at 532 and 523 W. Market St. from B3 commercial to R2 residential, and a request from GMR Rental Properties LLC for approval of an open play area tied to a plan to build two apartment buildings — a four-unit and a three-unit structure, totaling seven units — at 725 W. Oakland Ave.
The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Oct. 6.
