Barbara Ann (DeWitt) Havens, 86, of Frankfort, died Friday morning, September 11, 2026, at her home. She was born on September 5, 1940, in Fayette County. She was the daughter of the late Amos and Mabel (Greenlee) DeWitt. Beloved wife of Gary Ernest Havens, her devoted husband who survives her; the couple was married on February 5, 1956, and shared nearly 70 years of marriage.
She is also survived by her brother Wayne (Melody) DeWitt, four children, Belinda (Bruce) Coleman, Debbie Havens, Gary Dean (Stacy) Havens, Sandy (Will) Thomaschek, seven grandchildren, Doug Rhodes, Ross (Jessica) Rhodes, Zeb Coleman, Shanna (Garrett) Coleman, Tanya (Matt) Cooper, Martin (Kacie) Havens, Will Thomaschek, thirteen great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Evelyn DeWitt. She is also loved by a large family including nieces, nephews, and cousins who love her dearly.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Cathy (Jim) Rhodes, her brothers Willard (Jerry) DeWitt, Ralph (Betty) DeWitt, Kenneth DeWitt, and her sister, Marlene (Daryl) Henry.
Barbara was a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife. She was an avid gardener who could be found outside every day riding her gator. She loved to decorate for every season and celebrate everyone's special days and achievements. She made sure everyone felt special and loved. Barb loved traveling with Gary and Debbie, with Utah being the most beautiful place she ever visited. After her children began school Barbara returned to finish her education, and graduated from McClain High School. She retired from Johnson Controls and recently was blessed to attend the reunion where she hugged everyone.
A funeral service for Barbara will be held in the Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, with Joy Stanforth officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with Barbara's family at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5 to 8 p.m..
