CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe City Council and its committees will meet Monday at a different location, moving from their usual chambers to the auditorium at Chillicothe High School, according to a notice posted by the city.
The Engineering Committee is scheduled to convene at 4:15 p.m., followed by the Safety Service Committee at 5:55 p.m. and the Facilities Review Committee at 6:15 p.m., all ahead of the regular City Council meeting at 7 p.m., the city said. All four meetings will be held at the auditorium, 381 Yoctangee Pkwy, rather than council’s usual meeting space at 26 S. Paint St.
The city did not say why Monday’s meetings were relocated.
The change comes as council has separately been weighing a possible permanent move of its meeting space. Council voted last month to let the mayor begin negotiating a lease for new council chambers, meeting rooms and office space at the Foulke Block, 14 S. Paint St., though no lease has been finalized.
Residents planning to attend or address any of Monday’s meetings should go to the high school auditorium rather than the council chambers on Paint Street, according to the city.
