Billy Barnett, 90, of Frankfort, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday September 10, 2026 at this residence. He was born on November 11, 1935 in Medora, IL, the son of Robert and Ida Mae (Hunt) Barnett. On June 6, 1962 he married Hilda Grantham, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Beth Berg, a son, Tony (Monica) Barnett, grandchildren, Danielle (Nate) Keesee, Christian Barnett (Briar Arn), Brandon (Hannah) Berg, and Bryan (Remi) Berg, and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, and 7 brothers.

Billy proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division. He later worked as an engineer for Chicago Bridge and Iron, a career that gave him the opportunity to travel throughout the world.

He and Hilda attended Chillicothe Baptist Church. In his spare time, Billy enjoyed working in the yard and woodworking. Known as a “Jack of all trades,” he could seemingly do a little bit of everything and was always willing to put his skills to use. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to their church family at CBC, for their friendship and support, and to Adena Hospice for their care and kindness.

In keeping with Billy’s wishes, cremation will take place. A Celebration of Life will be held at Chillicothe Baptist Church at a later date at the discretion of the family.

The Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home are honored to serve the family.

Full service details and the family guest book are available at Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home.
