HILLSBORO, Ohio — The Highland County Firefighters Association will hold its annual mum sale next week, offering fall mums for $15 each to raise money for the nonprofit’s firefighter and EMT training programs.
The sale runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, and from 9 a.m. until the flowers sell out Saturday, Sept. 19, at 108 Governor Trimble Place in Hillsboro, the site of the old firehouse, according to the association. A smaller selection of mums will also be available Friday at the firehouse in Leesburg.
Cash and checks will be accepted at both locations, while card payments will be accepted only at the Leesburg site, the association said.
The Highland County Firefighters Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that represents 15 member fire departments and emergency service agencies across the county, providing training support to firefighters and EMTs, according to the organization’s website. The mum sale joins the association’s other annual fundraisers, including a car show and jeep show held each summer at Rocky Fork Lake, in supporting that training.
