Dorothy Ellen Patterson, 98, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Monday, September 14, 2026, at 11:24 p.m. at Carriage Court Assisted Living in Washington Court House where she had been residing since 2022.
Dorothy was born January 23, 1928, in Fayette County, Ohio to Pearl James and Marie Mae Riley Webb. She lived most of her life in New Holland and Washington Court House.
She formerly was a restaurant waitress and had assisted her dad in the operation of his Webb’s Restaurant in New Holland.
Dorothy enjoyed playing cards. She was devoted to her family and took great joy in cooking for them.
On September 29, 1945, she married Russell Lindel Patterson. He preceded her in death on July 31, 2002. She was also preceded by two sons, Russell Lindel Patterson, Jr. on September 20, 1985, and Larry Patterson on July 15, 2022; by six brothers, Lloyd, Charles, Mike, Lawrence, Ralph and Melvin Webb and two sisters, Ann Houseman and Helen Newland.
She is survived by three children, Linda Patterson and Brenda Agee and her husband, Glenn, all of Washington Court House and Kevin Patterson and his wife, Samantha, of Frankfort, OH; eleven grandchildren, Brad (Linda Kinzer) Goolsby, Brant (Dana) Goolsby, Larry (Heidi) Patterson, Stephanie Henderson, Matt (Jenny) Patterson, Brandi Duncan, Shannon Duncan, Michael (Ashley) Gallaugher, Gaige Patterson, Gavin Patterson and Zephry Patterson; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a sister, Vonna Baney of Westerville, OH and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with the Rev. Dan Young, pastor at the Spirit of Truth Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the New Holland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House from 11 a.m. Thursday until time of the service.
