LAWRENCE PAUL “LARRY” FITCH, JR., age 68, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

He was born April 22, 1958. He grew up in Florida, where he got his first taste of Christian education and ministry. He attended college in South Carolina where he met his wife, Elizabeth. Upon graduation, he started his teaching career. The Lord led him to Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Ohio, South Korea, South Carolina, West Virginia, and then back to Ohio. He taught English and foreign languages for over 30 years before being principal for 12 years.

He was known for his compassion, his love for people, his desire to serve the Lord sacrificially wherever. His puns were well-known. He enjoyed singing and taking day trips with his family. He loved coffee in any form and relished announcing how many days until Christmas and, in the summer, how many days until school started.

He leaves behind his wife, Elizabeth; daughters, Joanna, Marte, and Abby; as well as his sister, Loreen; and his nephew, Matthew; and his grandchildren, Alex, Caleb, and Zoe. He was preceded in death by his sons, Joel and Nathaniel, and his parents, Jeannie and Larry (Sr.)

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Fayette Bible Church, 1315 Dayton Avenue NW, Washington Court House, Ohio 43160. Visiting hours are 12-2:00 p.m., with the service starting at 2:00 p.m.
