JASPER, Ohio — State Route 32 is closed in the eastbound lanes near the 12-mile marker after a crash Tuesday, according to the Pike County General Health District.

The health district posted an alert on Facebook directing drivers to use Smokey Hollow Road and Jasper Road as a detour while the highway remains shut.

No additional details about the crash, including whether anyone was injured, were immediately available. State Route 32, also known as the James A. Rhodes Appalachian Highway, runs across southern Ohio between Cincinnati and Belpre and passes through Jasper, an unincorporated community at the junction of state routes 32, 104 and 124 along the Scioto River in Pike County.

Motorists in the area are advised to seek alternate routes until the lanes reopen.
