CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The city is adding speed humps to four more streets this week as it continues a traffic-calming project approved by City Council earlier this year.
Crews plan to install speed humps and warning signage along East Water Street, East Seventh Street, Pohlman Road and Yaples Orchard on Wednesday and Thursday, weather permitting, according to the city.
The work is being carried out under Ordinance No. 68-25, which authorized the city to install speed humps and accompanying signage in neighborhoods throughout Chillicothe, the city said.
Four other streets have already received speed humps under the ordinance: Watt Street, Yaples, Seventh Street and Piatt Avenue, according to the city. Installations on Logan View Drive, Eastern Avenue, Randall Drive and Stacey Road are expected to follow over the next two weeks, also weather permitting.
City officials are asking drivers to watch for warning signs, slow down before reaching a speed hump and travel straight through while maintaining a steady, safe speed.
