CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Trolley will not run its downtown route Saturday because of a mechanical issue, the city announced in a post on its Facebook page.

The Downtown Route normally operates Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Fridays from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., stopping at a dozen locations including the Chillicothe & Ross County Public Library, the city pool, the Pump House, Cristy’s Pizza, the Elks Lodge, the Phoenix Fire House and the Mighty Children’s Museum, according to the Chillicothe Transit System.

The trolley is offered free of charge and is wheelchair accessible. Riders can normally track its location in real time through the Ride Pingo app or the Transit Department’s website, though the tracker will not show activity while the vehicle is out of service.

The city did not say Saturday when the mechanical problem would be fixed or when the downtown route would resume.
