Harold “Dean” Conklin, 88, of Minford, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026, at his residence. He was born on October 3, 1937, in Scioto County, a son of the late Floyd and Esther M. (Smith) Conklin.
Dean was a 1956 graduate of Clay High School. He served in the Army Reserves, was an Ohio Highway State Patrolman, a parole officer, and a bailiff. Dean broke horses for Bob Evans Farm and worked at Frowine Hardware. He was also a member of Lucasville Masonic Lodge #465.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Phyllis (Rase) Conklin.
Dean is survived by his children, Steve Conklin, Donald Conklin, and Sherry Boggs; five grandchildren, Christian Conklin, Casey Conklin, Abby Conklin, Tabitha Jernigan, Cody Hill; his sister, Arlene (Howard) Richard; his brother, Darold (Janie) Conklin, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford. Burial will be at St. Johns Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
