HILLSBORO, Ohio — The Highland County Health Department will hold its last Dumpster Day cleanup event of 2026 Tuesday evening, giving residents one more chance this year to dispose of unwanted household items free of charge.
The event runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the health department, 1487 N. High St., Suite 400, in Hillsboro, the department said in a Facebook post. Service will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and the event will end once the dumpster is full, regardless of the posted closing time.
The health department is asking residents not to bring concrete, rocks or bricks; batteries or auto parts; tires; drums, liquids or chemicals; appliances or electronics; hazardous waste; or asbestos.
Tuesday’s cleanup caps a Dumpster Days schedule that has run across Highland County since April, with stops this year in Hillsboro, Greenfield, at Bayview Cabins, at the Mowrystown fire station and at the Lynchburg Sewer Treatment Plant. The RPHF Solid Waste District’s 2026 Community Clean-Up Grant Program has partially funded this year’s events, the health department has said.
