George W. McClanahan, 85 years old of Hillsboro, passed away on September 29, 2026. He was born on June 25, 1941 in Peebles to the late Charles Frederick McClananhan and Evelyn Marie Sattler.
George was a graduate of Peebles High School, and he served his Country in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. George worked several years for Nutrien Ag Solutions were he retired from. George known for his love of the outdoors, finding joy in walking and exercising amidst nature’s beauty. He cherished the time spent with family and friends and was a proud member of the Hillsboro Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1141 Lodge, and the American Legion in Bainbridge, where he fostered strong connections and shared memorable experiences with his fellow lodge members.
He is survived by his son, Timothy (Cindy) McClanahan of Blanchester, daughter, Cynthia (Chris) Hamilton of Xenia, grandchildren, Nathan (Sierra) McClanahan, Indica (J.V.) Coleman, Airica Murphy, Cortnee Brumley, Cailee (Zach) Christman, several great grandchildren, siblings, Tom McClanahan, Howard McClanahan, David McClanahan, Gary McClanahan and Rose Harris as well as a numerous other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his best friend and mother of his children, Alice McClanahan along with siblings, Jim McClanahan, Jack McClanhan, Raymond McClanahan and Louise Brookover McClanahan.
