NEW BOSTON, Ohio — The Village of New Boston has released full details for its annual Halloween Party, set for Oct. 24 at New Boston Stadium, including a costume contest, a haunted trail ride and a sensory-friendly tunnel for young children.
The village said in a Facebook post that the road in front of the stadium will close at 4 p.m. to allow food trucks and vendors to set up, with traffic redirected behind the stadium, next to the school, for the evening. The party itself begins at 5 p.m.
Activities planned inside the stadium include Halloween music with guest DJ Holly Gail, face painting, a haunted trail ride with Fuhrmanns Orchards and a sensory-sensitive haunted tunnel designed for younger children. Vendors and guests will also be on hand passing out candy, and the River Giants are scheduled to make an appearance.
The village is also running a costume contest and a pumpkin decorating contest. Residents can carve or paint pumpkins at home and bring them to the party for judging, with all entries due by 7 p.m. and prizes awarded to winners. The night is set to close with a mass Monster Mash dance on the field.
The event is hosted jointly by the Village of New Boston and New Boston Local Schools. The village said it is still accepting vendors and anyone who would like to set up a table to pass out candy to trick-or-treaters, including businesses, organizations and churches. Those interested can register by calling the village office at 740-456-4103, extension 102.
The Halloween Party is one of several community events New Boston has scheduled this fall, part of a village calendar that has also included a back-to-school clothes swap, a villagewide yard sale and park cleanup and art events.
