CLINTON J. GILMORE, age 94, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at Court House Manor.

He was born on August 28, 1932 in Washington CH to the late Clinton, Sr. and Helen (Crone) Gilmore. He was a 1951 graduate of Washington High School. Clinton proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1992 from London Correctional Institution where he had worked as a guard for many years. Clinton had also worked for Pennington Bread and the National Cash Register (NCR) Company. He enjoyed training Standardbred harness horses, traveling, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Clinton was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy (Bob) Self; nephews, Stephen Self, Samuel Self, and Robert Ray Self; step-grandson; Sean Satcher; and brother-in-law, Roger Boswell.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Rhoda Ann (Leeth) Gilmore, whom he married on July 10, 1959; his sons, Gregg (Nancy) Gilmore, and Gary (Laura) Gilmore; grandchildren, Lindsey (Sam) Camardo, Jamey (Tyler) Phillipeck, Devan Gilmore, and Kristi Gilmore; step-granddaughter, Stephanie Satcher; great-grandchildren, Julia Camardo, Maria Camardo, Elene Camardo, Kennedy Phillipeck, Levi Phillipeck, and Jayda Hixon; sister-in-law, Janice Boswell; special nieces, Claudia Hidy, Amy Boswell, and Julie Boswell; and his best friend, Ted Messner. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Bobby Seymour officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and burial will be held at the Washington Cemetery at a later date.
