PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — The Portsmouth City Health Department is stationing its Mobile Unit at the 14th Street Community Center today from noon to 3 p.m., offering free health screenings and primary care services to residents, the department said in a social media post.
The mobile clinic is staffed by Latonia Howard, a certified nurse practitioner, and provides first aid, primary care, reproductive health services, STI and HIV screening, diabetes and cholesterol screening, and cold and flu care, among other services, according to the health department.
Residents with questions can call the health department at 740-353-8863 for more information.
The stop is part of the department’s ongoing effort to bring health care directly into Portsmouth neighborhoods. The mobile unit has made stops at other locations this year, including Tracy Park, as the department works to reach residents who may face barriers to visiting its main clinic.
The health department’s Nursing Division also operates a walk-in primary care clinic at 605 Washington St. in Portsmouth, open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., according to the department’s website.
