Janice Lelia Tackett, 87, of Waverly, Ohio, passed 7:25 a.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Traditions at Bristol Village, Waverly, Ohio.
Janice was born October 29, 1938, in Piketon, Ohio, the daughter of the late William Havens, and Goldie Marie (Delay) Ramey. On April 30, 1955, she was united in marriage to James Elbert Tackett, Jr, who preceded her in death on September 10, 2021.
She is survived by two children, Diana Gale (Francis) Gorman, and Michael Kevin (Cheryl) Tackett; two grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Haring, and Eric Francis Gorman; and her sister, Linda (John) Daniel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, Leonard Dale Havens; and two sisters, Dorothy Allen, and Judy Acord.
Janice previously worked at Richie’s Meats, Piketon, Ohio, and as a bookkeeper for Leslie Construction. She was a member of Dailyville Free Will Baptist Church, Waverly, Ohio, enjoyed visiting the Pike County Senior Center, and loved to bowl.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly, Ohio. Burial will follow at Evergreen Union Cemetery, Bridge Street.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the beginning of the services on Tuesday at the funeral home in Waverly.
