Jerlene McClain, age 88, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026 at her home. She was born the daughter of the late Earl and Etna (Fannin) Branham on July 14, 1938 in Sandy Hook, KY. Jerlene was a loving wife and a talented woman who brought warmth and creativity to everything she did. She was a great cook and took pride in caring for her family, always striving to be the best wife she could be. Jerlene enjoyed sewing and especially loved making beautiful quilts and stuffed bears. She was also a talented artist who enjoyed expressing her creativity through her work. Above all, Jerlene will be remembered for her loving heart, her talents, and the special care she gave to those she loved. Jerlene is survived by her husband, Richard “Terry” McClain; sons, Danny McClain, Clinton (Donna) McClain, and Roger (Teresa) McClain; grandchildren, Brandi (Dwayne) Greenwood, Billy McClain, Roger Lee (Veronica) McClain, Tiffany McClain, Emery Post, Angie (Kyle) Pointer, David (Amy) McClain, Christian McClain, and Eric McClain; great grandchildren, Ethan, Zachary, Isaac, Brya, Baylee, Brystal, JT, Logan, Ryan, Trevor, David, Leah, Brandon, Christian James, Isaac, and Bethany; siblings, Arlene Bick and Rodney Branham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Rick McClain; great grandchild, Kaitlyn Burton; daughters-in-law, Andrea McClain and Diane McClain; and siblings, Butch Branham and Ladene Reffit. Visitation will be on Friday, September 25, 2026 from 11:00am until time of funeral service at 1:00pm at Davis-Turner Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Strange Cemetery. Davis-Turner Funeral Home is serving the family.
