Donavon Galloway III, 36, of Portsmouth, passed away Monday, October 5, 2026, at his home. He was born September 11, 1990, in Portsmouth, to Donavon Galloway II and Angela Alley Galloway. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Donavon and Evelyn Angela Galloway.
Donavon was a 2008 graduate of Northwest High School. He earned his bachelor's degree in Human Services and his associate degree in Psychology from Liberty University and was currently pursuing his master's degree in Criminology. He was a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor III (LCDC III), dedicating his career to helping others through their journeys of recovery. Through his work, he touched countless lives and made a lasting difference in the lives of those he helped.
Donavon enjoyed riding four-wheelers, cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bengals, and, most importantly, spending time with his family. He was a proud mama's boy and, in his mother's eyes, the best son in the entire world. He also shared a special bond with his dad and loved spending time together working on new projects. He was an amazing father who loved his children beyond measure. His sisters were truly his best friends, although he probably would never have admitted it. To his family, Donavon was simply "the man," with plenty of "rizz" to go around. His daughters had a special place in his heart, and his little princesses could get away with just about anything. His sons, Donavon and Silas, were already following in their dad's footsteps, especially when wearing their dad's hats and showing off a little "rizz" of their own. Donavon will be remembered for his personality, his love for his family, and the special bond he shared with those closest to him.
Along with his parents, he is survived by his fiancée, Jada Sparks; two sons, Donavon Galloway IV and Silas Legend Galloway; two daughters, Grace Issabela Galloway and Amiya Nova Rayne Galloway; two sisters, Savannah Galloway and Brooklyn Galloway; his maternal grandparents, Lena Winn and David Alley Sr.; his cherished nieces and nephews, Landon, Nevaeh, Remi, Raelyn, and Ryland; and several other loving family members.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth, with Mark Hubbard officiating.
