CLAUDIA KAY HIDY, age 68, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 18, 2026 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.
Claudia was born on June 7, 1958 in Washington CH to the late Robert E. and Dorothy J. (Gilmore) Self. She was a graduate of Washington High School.
There will never be enough words to describe the woman Claudia was. She was one of a kind, generous beyond measure, and one of the hardest-working people you could ever meet. Whether she was planting, painting, cleaning, cooking, or running errands for someone in need, she was always finding ways to show her love. She gave freely, loved deeply, and showed up in a big way for her people. She was a natural beauty, a trusted source of advice, and a woman whose heart and kindness touched so many lives.
Survivors include her beloved children, Brock and Lacey West, Brett and Paige Hidy, and Justin Hidy, along with several grandchildren. She gets to join the love of her life, Barry Hidy, in heaven.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Grace Community Church, 525 Glenn Ave., Washington CH, OH 43160.
Though she may be gone from our sight, the love she gave and the lives she touched will never be forgotten. When you have Jesus, you truly have everything.
