Our sweet Nancy Davis has passed, leaving behind a lifetime of love and a family who will miss her dearly.

Nancy L. Davis, 73, of Columbus, formerly of Bainbridge, passed away at 6:02 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Mount Carmel St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville. She was born July 23, 1953, in Pike County, Ohio, to the late Robert Andrew and Evelyn Lucille (Knisley) Jackson. On August 26, 1983, she married her prince charming, Gale Richard Davis, who passed away on July 5, 2019.

Nancy's family was the center of her life. She was a loving wife to Gale and a devoted mother to Amy, Christy, Ben, and Matt. She loved her children fiercely and was especially grateful that, of all the children in the world, they ended up being hers.

Nancy loved being a grandmother to her six grandchildren. She absolutely adored her parents, Bob and Evelyn, and cared for them until their passing. She looked after her brothers, loved her sister, and always made a point of staying in touch with her nieces and nephews. Nancy loved her family deeply, and being there for them was simply part of who she was.

Nancy believed in hard work and wasn't afraid of it. She retired from Candle-lite in 2017 after nearly 36 years of dedicated service, and she brought that same work ethic home. She enjoyed gardening, growing tomatoes and green beans, planting flowers, tending to her apple tree, and mowing her grass. Whether she was staining her deck, working in her yard, or settling in for a game of Candy Crush, Nancy found happiness in the simple pleasures of everyday life.

And then there was Pooch Jr., quite possibly the world's worst beagle. Pooch was awful. Truly awful. Yet, for reasons that remain a mystery to the rest of the family, Nancy absolutely adored that dog.

Nancy's life was filled with hard work, devotion to family, and a remarkable capacity to love and care for the people who mattered most to her. She showed her love through the things she did, the people she looked after, the strange dogs she raised, and the friendships she had throughout her life.

Nancy is survived by her children, Amy Whaley, Christy (Cassie) Davis, Ben Davis, and Matt (DeAnne) Davis; her six beloved grandchildren; her sister, Tondrea (Rodney) Logan; her brothers, Charles (Diane) Jackson and William (Carol) Jackson; her many special nieces and nephews; her best friend, Carol Joy; and her beloved dog, Pooch Jr.

In addition to her husband, Gale, and her parents, Bob and Evelyn, Nancy was preceded in death by her brothers, Ed and Jim Jackson, Paul Jackson and his wife, Ada, Tom Jackson and his wife, Tondelayo, and John Jackson and his wife, Freda; her nephews, James and Greg Jackson; her niece, Kathy Jackson; and Billie “Meme” Goodin, a beloved member of her family and her chair companion for many years. She was also preceded in death by her beloved dogs, Pooch Sr. and Jane.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home in Bainbridge. A celebration of Nancy's life will follow at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Kay Austin officiating.

Full service details and the family guest book are available at Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home.
