CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — High Street will close in both directions Thursday between North Street and Church Street while crews carry out water meter repairs, the city of Chillicothe said.

The closure is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to a notice the city posted on social media. The affected stretch of High Street runs near Chillicothe High School, on the city’s north side.

Water meter repairs typically require crews to dig into the roadway to reach shutoff valves and meter pits buried beneath the street, which can force a full closure rather than a single-lane restriction. The city did not say how many properties were affected by the repair.

Drivers were advised to seek alternate routes around North Street and Church Street during the closure window.
