GREENFIELD, Ohio — The village will hold a Dumpster Day for bulk waste disposal on Nov. 14, giving residents a chance to get rid of large items that don’t fit in weekly trash pickup, according to a village Facebook post.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on S. Washington Street, next to the railroad tracks. Residents must show proof of residency, including a photo ID and a Greenfield water bill, to use the dumpsters.

Computers, batteries, tires and items containing freon will not be accepted, and any empty paint cans must be fully dried before they can be dumped, the village said. The event is intended for large materials that won’t fit in residents’ regular garbage cans, not routine household trash.

Trees and shrubs are permitted as long as they are bound and tied. Mattresses should be placed next to the dumpsters rather than inside them, according to the village.

Elderly or disabled residents who need their large items picked up rather than hauling them to the drop-off site must call the village by noon on Nov. 12 to be placed on the pickup schedule.

Residents with questions can contact the village at 937-981-3500.
