PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — Drivers on U.S. Route 52 near OSCO Industries should expect lane closures over the next two weeks as crews work on the roof of the manufacturing plant, the Portsmouth Police Department said in a Facebook post.
The eastbound north lane of U.S. 52 by OSCO will be closed from Nov. 2 through Nov. 13 for replacement of a portion of the roof, according to the department. On Nov. 14 and Nov. 15, a Saturday and Sunday, both southbound lanes on the east side of OSCO will be closed to allow for the placement of a crane. The turn lane will remain open during that weekend closure, the department said.
The police department asked motorists to plan accordingly as the work proceeds.
OSCO is a manufacturing company based in Portsmouth, with a plant situated near the corner of U.S. 23 south and U.S. 52 west, according to the Scioto County Public Library’s local history collection. U.S. 52 is a major east-west route through Scioto County, carrying traffic along the Ohio River through Portsmouth and the surrounding area.
