ASHVILLE, Ohio — The Ashville Police Department responded to 298 calls for service in October while logging 5,825 patrol miles across the village, according to the department’s monthly activity report.

Officers conducted 77 business checks, 37 traffic stops and 13 house checks during the month, and assisted other agencies 20 times, the department said in a Facebook post. Chief Bryan Cline’s department credited the figures to proactive patrols, business and residential checks, traffic enforcement and mutual aid to neighboring agencies.

The monthly snapshot comes as the department has drawn attention in recent weeks for other initiatives, including a Life Saving Award ceremony honoring two officers and a village council discussion over a possible police drone purchase. The department has published monthly activity totals as part of a regular effort to keep residents informed of day-to-day police work in the Pickaway County village.

The department thanked residents for their continued trust and support in the post.
