FAYETTE COUNTY, Ohio — A man was booked into the Fayette County Jail on Thursday after deputies say he opened fire at a factory where he worked.

Deputies and officers from the Washington Court House Police Department responded to a report of “shots fired” at Hi-Tech Electrical Contractors on Old U.S. 35, just outside Washington Court House early Thursday morning.

“Upon arrival, contact was made with employees of Hi-Tech Electrical who indicated they were reportedly shot at by a male subject, later identified as Michael P. Nartker, age 48 of Beavercreek, Ohio,” said Sheriff Vernon P. Stanforth.

A handgun was recovered from Nartker’s assigned work vehicle and he was quickly arrested without incident, the Sheriff said. No injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire. The motive for the shooting was not immediately released.

Nartker, of Green County, was charged with two felony counts of felonious assault.
