WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — Fayette County residents and business owners are invited to a public open house Wednesday to preview a new county brand and weigh in on proposed wayfinding signage, according to the Fayette County Commissioners’ office.

The open house is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. at the Washington High School cafeteria. Attendees will be able to view multiple signage design concepts and potential locations, learn about co-branding opportunities with local jurisdictions and give feedback directly to the project team, the commissioners’ office said.

A steering committee has spent the past several months developing a unified county brand on behalf of the commissioners, using funds donated by Amazon, according to the announcement. The effort is meant to strengthen the county’s visual identity and improve navigation for residents, visitors and businesses. The steering committee is working with the firm Designing Local on the design process, with input from the community.

Officials envision the new brand being used broadly across the county, including on merchandise, vehicle decals, letterhead, roundabouts, and road and building signage, the commissioners’ office said.

As the project moves forward, officials plan to fund fabrication and installation through a cost-share model. Under that approach, the county commissioners, the county’s travel and tourism office and participating jurisdictions would collaborate to support the wayfinding rollout and share resources, according to the announcement. Each jurisdiction will make its own final decisions on signage selection and co-branding.
