CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Ross County sheriff’s deputies and fire crews were called to the 30 block of Brady Hill Road late Saturday after a woman reported that a man had set her house on fire and assaulted her.
The 911 call came in shortly after 10:48 p.m., according to radio traffic. The caller told a dispatcher she had left the house and was in her vehicle, and the report was relayed to responding units as a possible felony.
Fire and squad crews were placed on standby for a possible structure fire with a possible injured female, according to radio traffic. Moments later, the caller reported she had attempted to put the fire out herself, and that only smoke — not open flames — was visible from outside the house.
Deputies arrived on scene and begun an investigation.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
