WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — Fayette County commissioners are scheduled to vote Sept. 14 on resolutions granting the annexation of about 61 acres of Jefferson Township farmland into the Village of Jeffersonville, following petitions two landowners filed last month, according to the board’s meeting agenda.
The agenda includes separate resolutions granting expedited Type II annexations of 39.493 acres and 21.281 acres under Ohio Revised Code sections 709.021 and 709.023. Landowner Gretchen E. Krieger and Martin Land Co. petitioned to annex the two tracts along State Route 729 near Interstate 71 last month, with Amazon Data Services Inc. listed as an adjacent property owner in both filings.
In old business carried over from a previous meeting, commissioners are also set to consider amended community reinvestment area and development agreements tied to the L-H Battery plant, the joint venture building a battery facility near Jeffersonville.
New-business items include a resolution setting the county’s 2026 dog license fee. Commissioners have also pushed back until Sept. 21 discussion of a potential one-year moratorium — with an emergency clause that would let it take effect immediately — on data center-related zoning applications, approvals and building permits in unincorporated areas of Concord, Green, Jasper, Madison, Marion, Paint and Perry townships, according to the agenda.
The meeting is scheduled for Sept. 14 at the Fayette County Commissioners’ office.
