VINTON COUNTY, Ohio — Two men have been charged with serious sex crimes in Vinton County. Each case carrying the potential for lengthy prison sentences.
William R. Bloomfield, 41, Nelsonville was arrested back on April 12 following an indictment by the Vinton County Grand Jury. According to court records obtained by the Guardian, Bloomfield is accused of having sexual contact with a minor residing within the same residence.
Bloomfield was charged with three counts of rape, eleven counts of sexual battery, eleven counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, and one count of gross sexual imposition, according to Vinton County Prosecutor Jim Payne.
Bloomfield has remained in jail on a $250,000 bond. According to court records, he is scheduled to be in court for a pre-trial on June 16.
In a separate case, Kenneth Shane Hamblin, 34, McArthur was indicted on two counts of rape, two counts of sexual battery, two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, one count of gross sexual imposition, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The facts surrounding the cases were not released.
