Robert Lee Havens, 88 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at the Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on June 9, 1933 to the late Milton Havens and Mary Hays Havens. On January 6, 1962 he was united in marriage to Joan Legg Havens. In addition to his wife Robert is survived by his daughter; Kimberly Havens of Columbus; two grandchildren, Maria (Gavin) Gillum of Lancaster, Ohio and Jonathan havens of Thornport, Ohio; two great grandchildren, Hannah Gillum and Beckham Gillum; three sisters, Carol Forsythe of Washington Court House, Ohio, Barb Riggs of Washington Court House, Ohio and Dianne (Roger) Satchell of Washington Court House, Ohio and sister-in-law Mary Havens of Washington Court House, Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and sister-in-laws. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his siblings; Beatrice, Oakey, Dorothy, Bill, Betty, Jim, Johnny Mack and Annie.
Robert was in the United States Army and was a member of the VFW Post 1380 in Lancaster and a member of the Sertoma Club. Robert was a salesman at Creasey and Depollo-Sysco for many years where he was always the top salesman. He retired from Sakas Inc after several years of service. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed playing golf, playing cards and traveling. He especially enjoyed visiting with his family as often as he could.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, June 14, 2021 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Reverend Danny Eitel officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Etna Cemetery on Bethel Hill Road in Pike County. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
