Robert Dale Burton, age 84, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, under the care of Adena Hospice.
He was born on August 22, 1936, in Allensburg, Ohio, the son of, the late Delman and Luella (Gebhart) Burton. He served in the U.S. Army and was retired from Rotary Forms Press in Hillsboro. He enjoyed horseback riding and coon hunting. He is survived by his wife, Carol (Sanders) Burton whom he married on October 1, 1961; two sons, Eddie (Lisa) Aber of Brookville and Scott Burton of Belfast; two daughters, Candy (Rick) Wright of Lehigh, Florida and Deidre (Todd) Slater of Hillsboro; ten grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren; one sister, Beverly (David) Ybarra of Temple, Texas; one half-brother, Mike (Bobbi) Burton of Dayton and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jesse Shaffer; stepmother, Mary Burton; two sisters, Donna White and Barbara Hale; one brother, Eric Shaffer; one grandson, Kyle Green and one great granddaughter, Kylah Green. There will be no services observed. The Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro is serving the family.
