PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — A police chase in Pickaway County ended in a serious accident.

It happened just before midnight Tuesday night near the area of Huston Street and the railroad tracks in Circleville.

One person was trapped inside the crash; a medical helicopter was called to the scene to fly them to a Columbus area hospital.

The railroad was also shutdown.

Officers on scene told the Guardian the chase started after the 18-year-old driver blew through stop signs. Because of the erratic driving, sergeants called the pursuit off. A few minutes later, that’s when officers stumbled upon the wreck.

The person’s name has not been released, but officers said he did not have a valid license.
